Sankofa Consulting Launches Sankofa Consulting Africa, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary Based in Dakar, Senegal
Dakar, 04/06/2026 — Sankofa Consulting LLC is pleased to announce the official establishment of Sankofa Consulting Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Dakar, Senegal. This milestone marks a significant step in the firm’s continued growth and deepened commitment to working across the African continent.
Sankofa Consulting Africa has been created to strengthen the firm’s ability to partner more closely with African institutions, governments, and organizations, and to respond to the increasing demand from funders for locally rooted, African-based expertise. The Dakar office will serve as a regional hub supporting work across West and East Africa.
Building on Sankofa’s longstanding portfolio on the continent — including collaborations with partners such as the Gates Foundation and the Hilton Foundation, Sankofa Africa will deliver high-quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), technical assistance, and strategy support tailored to local contexts.

The new entity will be led by Ms. Mariam Traoré, who brings extensive experience managing Sankofa’s Africa portfolio. She is supported by a team of seasoned research and MEL professionals with deep multisectoral experience across Africa. As needed, Sankofa Africa works in close partnership with Sankofa Consulting and collaborates with local, regional, and international organizations to ensure the right mix of sectoral expertise, technical depth, and contextual knowledge for each engagement.
With this launch, Sankofa aims to further strengthen local partnerships, support evidence-driven decision-making, and contribute to building stronger learning systems across the continent.
