Josephine Njau – Development & MEL Consultant

Josephine Njau is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience designing, managing, and evaluating complex donor-funded programs across sub-Saharan Africa. She brings deep expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), combined with strong program implementation and performance management capabilities.

Josephine has a proven track record in leading multi-country studies, coordinating evaluations, and delivering high-quality analytical outputs that inform strategy and decision-making. She has successfully managed and contributed to large-scale program reviews, learning studies, and evidence generation processes involving diverse stakeholders including governments, donors, private sector actors, and development partners.

Her experience includes designing results frameworks, developing theories of change, and overseeing qualitative and quantitative research processes; from tool design and data collection to analysis and reporting. She is highly skilled in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing client engagements, and ensuring timely delivery of consultancy assignments.

Previously with AGRA, Josephine played a key role in strengthening institutional performance systems, coordinating evaluations across 13 countries, and building capacity of over 3,000 partners in results-based MEL. She is recognized for enhancing data quality, accountability, and the use of evidence in program management.
