Position Summary

Sankofa Consulting seeks an early mid-career Evaluation Officer/Program Officer (EO/PO) with strong quantitative skills to engage in the full range of technical tasks and activities offered to our clients. The EO/PO I focuses on supporting strategy, measurement, evaluation and learning activities to assess the implementation and impact of program interventions. This includes conducting data collection and quantitative analysis using large data sets, developing dashboards and knowledge products, and collaborating with external partners and stakeholders. In addition, the EO/PO I will work as part of Sankofa’s project teams to contribute to proposal development in response to solicitations. The EO/PO I will work with staff to manage external communications with clients and partners, ensuring that the discrete tasks and activities of Sankofa’s programs, learnings, and results are broadly shared with relevant stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage client facing projects, including client relationships, tracking project deliverables, budget oversight, and coordinating project components

  • Conduct literature and secondary data collection reviews

  • Contribute to the design of evaluation and research plans

  • Contribute to the design of quantitative data collection instruments, sampling plans, and analysis plans

  • Collect or supervise data collection, management, and transformation of data.

  • Conducts quantitative analysis using statistical methods (e.g., descriptive and multivariate analysis) to identify trends and assess outcomes for program monitoring and evaluation

  • Contribute to the development of interactive dashboards and visualizations

  • Prepare and deliver high quality draft and final reports, presentations, and other deliverables

  • Contribute to proposal development, including background research, reviews and drafting written responses

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in public policy, social sciences, economics and/or related areas

  • At least three years of work experience in research, evaluation and/or management consulting

  • Survey design expertise, including sampling strategies, questionnaire development and bias mitigation.

  • Demonstrated experience using statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS or R)

  • Advanced knowledge of PowerBi and/or Tableau and/or other data visualization software

  • Excellent writing skills to effectively create clear and concise documents

  • Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines

  • Project management skills, a plus

  • Second language, preferred

This is an exempt full-time hybrid position based in Seattle. We welcome candidates who are willing to relocate. This role may require travel to client and partners sites in the Pacific Northwest.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary for this position is $85,000. Benefits also include medical coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
