Call for Consultants: Sankofa Consulting is seeking to expand our pool of experienced evaluation consultants for upcoming and ongoing engagements.

Opportunity Overview

  • We are seeking consultants with prior experience working with foundations or grantmaking organizations in measurement, evaluation, and learning, either as external consultants or internal staff.

  • We are primarily looking for mid-career and senior consultants with an established or growing consulting practice who are interested in ongoing collaboration and repeat engagements.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a strong asset; these candidates are strongly encouraged to express interest

Areas of Expertise (we are seeking a range of profiles):

We are seeking consultants with experience in:

  • Designing and implementing practical, utilization-focused evaluation approaches

  • Planning and executing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies, with the ability to right-size methods to project scope and client needs

  • Supporting clients and partners to interpret and use findings, including both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Facilitating sensemaking and learning processes with diverse stakeholders

  • Sector experience in one or more of the following areas:

o   Environment and climate

o   Education

o   Equity and inclusion

o   Systems change, advocacy, or social movement efforts

Illustrative Responsibilities

Depending on the assignment, consultants may:

  • Design and implement evaluation and research activities in partnership with a project lead and team

  • Lead or support quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis

  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize secondary data to inform evaluation design and findings

  • Contribute to reports, presentations, and other client deliverables

  • Facilitate sensemaking and learning sessions with clients and partners

  • Provide technical and strategic advisory support to project team

Qualifications

We are looking for consultants who bring:

  • 6–10+ years of relevant experience in evaluation or applied research

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in public policy, social sciences, public health and/or related areas

  • Demonstrated experience working with foundations or grantmaking organizations

  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights

  • Ability to work U.S. West Coast (Pacific) business hours

  • Strong alignment with Sankofa’s commitment to equity and social justice
